REFACTOR

Privacy policy · Last updated 27 October 2026

In short: Refactor keeps your training, body and health data on your iPhone. We don't run accounts, servers, analytics or ads, and we never see, sell or share your data.

Who we are

Refactor is a workout tracker made by Jack Nicolson ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy: jack@nicolson.xyz.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you put into Refactor is stored on your device, in the app's own storage:

This data is included in your normal iPhone backup (iCloud or your computer), which Apple protects. We have no access to it.

Apple Health

If you turn on Apple Health sync in Settings, Refactor asks your permission to:

Health data is used only to show it in Refactor and to keep Refactor and Health in step. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sent to us or anyone else, and never stored in iCloud by Refactor. You can change or remove Refactor's access at any time in the Health app, under Sharing › Apps.

Apple Watch

If you use the Refactor watch app, starting a workout on your iPhone starts one on your watch. The watch measures your heart rate and active calories and sends them straight to your iPhone during the workout, and saves the workout to Apple Health. Nothing goes through us or any server.

Location, motion and Bluetooth

Camera, photos, Face ID and notifications

Subscriptions

Refactor Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells Refactor only whether your Apple ID has an active subscription. We never see your name, email or payment details.

What we don't do

Deleting your data

Delete individual items inside the app, or delete Refactor from your iPhone to remove everything it stored. Data already written to Apple Health stays there until you delete it in the Health app.

Children

Refactor isn't directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and describe the change in the app's release notes.
